* What is Scenic Water? It is a remeltable 1 pack resin that pours flows and sets as you want it to simulate liquids/ water in baths, sinks, gutters etc. It melts in warm water and can be poured into place where it will set once it cools. By blowing trace amounts of detergent bubbles realistic bubble effects can be created for washing up bath time bubbles ; using a heat gun it can be used to simulate surface waves and ripples. With the addition of Scenic Colours all types domestic fluids, beers, jellies etc can be created.* Melting Scenic Water Scenic water melts at low temperature at about 55-60C (ie just about bearable with human hand so if you spill it it will not burn you! Best way is to use and old saucepan filled with water. Put the pot into the water and raise the temperature of the water to above 60C . Keep it below boiling point as high temperaures destroy the product. After about 5- 10 minutes it will go liquid and can then be poured into place If you don't want to use all the product at once you can spoon it out into smaller pots ready for adding scenic colouring. These pots can then be remelted again by floating them in hot water!* Matching the colours Scenic Colours provide you with the correct colours for most fluids. Check in plain water before if you want. Correctly match colour of the miniature by lining it up with the original fluid /object at a distance. Here's how the scale model aircraft modellers do it courtesy of RCME March issue 2000.* Dispensing Scenic water Deluxe Materials Pin Point glue syringgs provide a convenient way to dispense Scenic Water .After adding the resin the syringes can be placed in hot water where the resin will keep molten ready for use. The syringes will stay afloat and will not be too hot to pick up out of the water.* Making Running water and water drop from taps etc Use the Pin point syringe with molten Scenic Water in it at a temperature just above its setting point. The idea here is that as the Scenic water passes down the syringe it will cool down (heat radiated from the steel needle) ; as it dose so it thickens and begins to solidify. As it appears at the end it will still be sticky and can be attached to the end of the tap where is will become "glued." At this point you can carefully remove the syringe to leave a drop effect or continue to extrude the resin dragging it slowly down to attach in a similar fashion to scenic water previously poured into the sink. If you are using metal taps it may be best to lacquer them before a Scenic water may cause a slight discolouration . If you can do it first time just remelt it and try again!* Making a waterfall After creating the water drop ad some small lengths of transparent fishing line and hang them over the edge of the fall. Then pour small amounts of Scenic Water over the edge as the resin cools it will solidify around the line adding a realistic water fall effect.* Make Bubbles and Foam Prepare a small Pin Point syringe with soapy water bubbles (not water just bubbles) using domestic liquid detergent and familiarise your self with this process. Pour molten Scenic Water into the vessel (bath sink etc.). Allow it to begin cooling .Then just before it sets immerse the syringe with the bubbles below the surface and blow the bubbles through the liquid resin. The action of cooling the resin with cold bubbles will ÒsetÓ the resin in place with fixed bubbles.If the effect is not what you want you can re-melt it and try again!* Adding liquids to small wine and beer containers Use the small Pin Point syringes to dispense small amounts of scenic water into tiny vessels such as jam jars wine and beer glasses. White foam such as on the head of a beer glass is often better added afterwards using clear liquid "pre-foamed" Scenic Water from a new syringe (it goes white with added air) rather than trying to foam the coloured resin.The uses of Scenic Water are endless and limited only by your imagination send us your ideas and photos and above all have fun using this product.
